Care Instructions
Keep your comforts looking their best with these tips and tricks.
Silk
– Hand-wash your silk pillowcases in cool water.
– Rinse them thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
– Remember, silk is delicate when wet. Avoid wringing or twisting the pillowcases, as this can damage the weaker, wet fibers.
– While machine washing is possible, use the gentlest cycle available.
– Consider using a mesh laundry bag, especially if your machine has a center agitator. This will help prevent snags and twists in the delicate silk fibers.
– Avoid bleach entirely.
– Silk pillowcases air dry quickly, usually within a few hours. No ironing necessary.
Linen
– Machine wash on a gentle cycle in warm water using a mild detergent
– Wash with items similar in color and fabric
– Avoid washing with items that may have zippers or hooks that could cause pilling
– Line dry or tumble dry on low heat, removing promptly
– Do not use chlorine bleach, benzoyl peroxide, and other harsh chemicals
Cotton
– Machine wash in cool water using a mild detergent
– Wash with items similar in color and fabric
– Avoid washing with items that may have zippers or hooks that could cause pilling
– Tumble dry on low heat to preserve the natural fibers
– Avoid using chlorine bleach, benzoyl peroxide, and other harsh chemicals
Flannel

– Wash with items similar in color and fabric
– Avoid washing with items that may have zippers or hooks that could cause pilling

Down Alternative
– Machine wash in cool water on delicate cycle with a maximum temperature of 30°C (86°F) while not over filling machine
– Use mild detergent and do not use fabric softeners or conditioners
– Tumble dry on low
– Use a dryer ball when drying pillows or duvet (a dryer ball will maintain movement of the fibers, allowing for faster and more even drying)
– Ensure items are completely dry before storing and re-fluff before storage or before use
– Do not store in plastic
– Wash heavily soiled items separately from lightly soiled items
Down
– Down Duvet Insert should be used with a duvet cover at all times. Failure to do so will cause premature wear and invalidate the warranty.
– Prior to use, shake the duvet insert vigorously to help fluff up the down. It will take about 1 week of use before the outer fabric softens up and the down lofts up to its full potential.
– A properly preserved duvet insert should only require cleaning after five to ten years, if at all.
– If your insert requires cleaning, have the comfort DRY CLEANED or PROFESSIONALLY WASHED by a reputable cleaner that specializes in cleaning down + feather products.
– DO NOT attempt to machine wash or dry clean this product yourself. If the filling stays even slightly damp, the down + feather will clump together and may allow mildew growth.
